Fine Design for the Fine Arts
McCall Associates specializes in graphic design for the art world. Our expertise in editorial design—and its varied applications across books, websites, advertising, and promotions—allows us to produce beautiful materials for the most discerning eyes in the business.
For books, our process starts with the aims of the publisher: museum books, gallery catalogues, commercial monographs, and catalogues raisonnés each have their own audience and purpose. We tailor our designs around a project's goals, budget, and the specifics of the art being presented. For many of our clients we also provide detailed management of the project's production: creating printing specifications, reviewing and revising of color proofs, directly supervising the printing and binding processes, and coordinating with printers for the deliveries of final books.
We also design and produce other art world communications—from large-scale projects like graphic identities, complex websites, and advertising campaigns, down to smaller items like announcement cards, posters, and email newsletters. We apply the same editorial focus to these print and digital projects as we do to the books we design. As a whole, our portfolio represents a diverse selection of work that engages the visually sophisticated audiences our clients rely on.
Since its founding, our company has embodied the most creative and effective design principles. Under the leadership of David Zaza and Mark Nelson, partners and owners since the early 2000s, we have refined that tradition into a forward-looking 21st-century studio committed to helping our clients produce energetic and engaging work.
We welcome inquiries from museums, galleries, art fairs, artists, publishers, curators, writers—anyone with an arts-focused project that needs the attention and expertise that McCall Associates provides.
